Carolyn See,
Author

Novelist Carolyn See has achieved national prominence and received numerous literary awards including the prestigious Robert Kirsch Body of Work Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship in Fiction. Her latest book, “Making a Literary Life: Advice for Writers and Other Dreamers,” has been called “a crisp, easy to read slim volume that gives both practical advice and a wise philosophical slant on what it really takes to be a writer.”

See’s most recent novel, “The Handyman,” drew rave reviews. Her other novels and books include “Rhine Maidens,” “Making History,” “Golden Days,” “Mothers Daughters,” “The Rest is Done With Mirrors,” “Dreaming: Hard Luck and Times in America,” and “Two Schools of Thought.”

She also teaches literature at UCLA, writes book reviews for the Washington Post and writes profiles for the New York Times Magazine. She has served as a book reviewer for Los Angeles Times and the New York Newsday and published articles in Esquire, Atlantic, Sports Illustrated, McCalls, TV Guide, and Ms. Magazine.
