Joshua Hamilton is a partner in the Los Angeles and Century City offices of Latham & Watkins. His practice focuses on complex litigation and trials, with specific experience in securities and corporate governance-related litigation and investigations, defense of class actions, and representation of companies and senior executives in high-stakes disputes. Mr. Hamilton also has significant experience counseling public and private companies and their boards on corporate governance and disclosure issues and represents special committees of boards of directors in internal investigations.
Mr. Hamilton is very involved in his field and is a member the Executive Committee of the Litigation Section, in addition to serving on several committees of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. He is also active in the Los Angeles Chapter of the Federal Bar Association, and the State Bar of California. At Paul Hastings, Mr. Hamilton served for two years as recruiting chair for the Los Angeles Office. His involvement in the community includes membership on the board of directors of three charitable organizations focused on education and mentoring of underserved children and young adults, and he is actively involved in other non-profit and community organizations.
At Cornell University, Mr. Hamilton earned a B.A. in Economics and then attended Santa Clara University School of Law, where he was awarded his J.D. In 2010, he was recognized as one of the Top 20 Attorneys Under 40 in California by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journals and he was featured in Los Angeles magazine as a “Rising Star” of attorneys in Southern California for each of the past seven years (2006-2012), as selected by Southern California Super Lawyers.
