Rick Landis has worked continuously for the family-owned enterprise, Newport Diversified, Inc., since 1969. During that time, he has managed and supervised motion picture theaters, vending and video game businesses, and six open-air market places. In the open-air market place segment, he has been responsible for every phase of business, from site location and acquisition to permitting, opening, and operation. Mr. Landis currently supervises the Los Angeles City College, Cypress College, and Santa Fe Springs Open-Air Marketplaces. In addition, Mr. Landis is responsible for business development.
Rick Landis is very active in various trade and non-profit organizations, and has held a number of leadership positions. He is currently a member (and Past President) of the California Swap Meet Owners Association, Santa Fe Springs Chamber of Commerce (two separate terms as President), and is Network Coordinator for the Santa Fe Springs Business Emergency Preparedness Network. He has been honored as the “Business and Professional Citizen of the Year” by the city of Santa Fe Springs.
On the nonprofit side, Rick Landis has served on the Board of Directors of the Rio Hondo Chapter of the American Red Cross; he is a current member of the Santa Fe Springs Rotary Club (and Past President). For the last five years has served as a mentor for local high school students, and has volunteered in many community and school organizations and committees, including Arcadia Little League, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Arcadia High School track and field, and the “Extra Point Club” football booster program.
Mr. Landis resides in Arcadia with his wife, three children, and one grandchild. The Landis family enjoys spending time together camping, fishing, and traveling.
