Robert C. Winters, Treasurer

In his position as Treasurer (and Past President) of the Foundation Board of Directors, Bob Winters stays connected to the College where he taught for 37 years. He educated students in economics and U. S. history as a member of the social sciences department before his retirement. During his tenure at LACC, Mr. Winters served as social sciences department Chair for 12 years and he also served a one-year term as President of the Faculty Association (now known as the Academic Senate).

One of Bob Winters’ interests is the history of LACC. In fact, he was one of the contributors to the book compiled to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the College. He has written other pieces for LACC publications that focus on the history of the institution.

As an educator, Mr. Winters has followed the careers of his students and notes that one in particular, Steve Rundle, went on to complete his studies at California State University, Northridge (B.A.) and the Claremont Graduate School (M.A., Ph.D.), and is now an associate professor of economics at Biola University.

Since his retirement, Mr. Winters has traveled throughout northern Europe and the Mediterranean with his wife, Daulphine. When not traveling or attending to his volunteer duties for the LACC Foundation, Bob Winters is busy enjoying life.

With a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles, and an M.A. from the University of Southern California, Mr. Winters suffers from divided loyalty during football season—but usually finds himself rooting for USC to win.
