Alumna Merryl Alpert Sells Ceramics to Benefit LACC Art Department

On May 4th, 5th and 6th the LACC Art Gallery opened its doors for a Mother’s Day Sale, with a wonderful selection of ceramics, paintings and art books for sale at affordable prices for students and faculty, with all proceeds benefiting the gallery as well as funding art student scholarships.

Most of the ceramics were donated by alumna & artist Merryl Alpert. Merryl spoke briefly to the art students and faculty at a reception held in her honor and discussed the importance of just sitting down to make art, even if the artist is nervous to try something new or don’t have a concrete idea in mind.
