Beatrice Hsu

Bea Hsu is Vice President of Development for The Related Companies of California. Related is a major real estate development company specializing in infill development, affordable and mixed-income housing, and commercial mixed-use projects. Ms. Hsu is responsible for project management, business development, and government and community relations at Related.

Ms. Hsu is currently managing various projects in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, including the Grand Avenue Project, a public/private partnership with the City and County of Los Angeles to develop a mixed-use project that will include mixed-income housing, retail, and hotel uses as well as a 16-acre public park in downtown Los Angeles.

Ms. Hsu is an appointee to the Los Angeles Industrial Development Authority and currently serves as its Vice Chair. The IDA promotes economic development as a conduit issuer of tax-exempt bond financing for business enterprises in the Empowerment Zone and industrial business enterprises within the City of Los Angeles.

Ms. Hsu served previously as a senior advisor to Los Angeles City Councilmember Eric Garcetti, with a focus on housing, redevelopment, and economic development policy. She also served as a policy advisor to California State Controller Kathleen Connell.

Ms. Hsu is a graduate of the Coro Fellowship in Public Affairs and the USC Ross Minority Program in Real Estate.  She holds a B. A. from Yale University in History and Political Science.
