Michael G. Morgan

Mike Morgan is a trial lawyer with Jones Day.  He has worked for a diverse list of clients, including Ventura County Community College District, Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, Warner Bros., Pepperdine University, University of California, Irvine, Experian Information Solutions, Inc., Northrop Grumman, DIRECTV, and Lehman Brothers.  He has particular expertise in litigating large, multi-party complex civil cases, especially class actions, and has experience in a range of substantive areas, including consumer credit and finance, false advertising, unfair competition, securities, and employment law.  He has published extensively on a range of business litigation topics. Prior to joining Jones Day, he was the Vice President and General Counsel for Epic Cycle Interactive, Inc., and, before then, he was an associate with Sheppard Mullin Richter & Hampton.

Mr. Morgan received the Advocate of the Year Award in 2003 from the Consumer Law Project of Public Counsel, the nation's largest public service law firm.  He was selected from several thousand volunteer attorneys for his successful prosecution of a class action on behalf of victims of a swindle that targeted California's Spanish-speaking communities.  In 2004, Mr. Morgan received a Letter of Commendation from the City of Simi Valley for his pro bono prosecution of a hard-core gang member.

Mr. Morgan is a 1989 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Business, where he received his B.S. in Economics, cum laude.  He received his J.D. from UCLA Law School in 2003.  He is married to Carlye Pollack, who works in film marketing at Sony Pictures.
