Michael Ross
Michael A. Ross has worked for more than 30 years in the television industry in various business
capacities for TV networks and production/distribution companies. Since 2007, he has held the position of Executive Vice President, Business Affairs & Operations, BBC Worldwide America, overseeing the business side of BBC Worldwide’s varied entities in the U.S.
Mr. Ross is responsible for helping to deliver significant growth across BBC Worldwide’s businesses in the U.S. and developing the BBC brand. This includes expanding BBC Worldwide’s portfolio of news, entertainment and children’s channels and working with U.S. networks on behalf of BBC Worldwide Productions (including Dancing with the Stars). In addition, Mr. Ross plays a key role in managing the flagship cable network BBC America, and the following divisions: home video (including Planet Earth); program sales and acquisitions; advertising sales; news (including BBC World News America); merchandising; and digital program delivery.
Prior to the BBC, Mr. Ross was Executive Vice President, Business Affairs of The CW Television Network, following a nine-year tenure at The WB Network. During that time he managed all talent, development and license fee negotiations for the primetime schedule and for Kids’ WB!
Mr. Ross has been involved for many years with Childhelp, one of the nation’s oldest and most prominent non-profit organizations dedicated to helping victims of child abuse and neglect. He recently founded the Michael Ross Foster Child Scholarship Fund in association with Childhelp to assist and encourage alumni of Childhelp to pursue higher education.
Mr. Ross graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, and was awarded a B.A. Degree in Economics.
