Martin "Marty" Vargas

Board member Martin "Marty" Vargas is the Vice President of Customer Relations for First Class Vending in Bell Gardens California. In his role at First Class Vending, Mr. Vargas serves as chief project manager for the County of Los Angeles, Los Angeles World Airports, Bryman College, CSU San Bernardino, and the Los Angeles Community College District.

In fact, Marty Vargas is well suited for his position as a member of the LACC Foundation Board—he is a product of the Los Angeles Community College District. A true “Angeleno”, Mr. Vargas was born and raised in Los Angeles. After graduating from Roosevelt High School in East Los Angeles, he attended Los Angeles City College and later transferred to LA Trade Technical College where he received an A.A. Degree in Food and Restaurant Management.

His training led Mr. Vargas to a career in restaurant management at a number of major restaurant chains, and that experience led him to the Los Angeles Community College District where he served as Food Service Director at Los Angeles Pierce College. Mr. Vargas remained at Pierce College for 26 years. He has kept his hand in the food business as the owner and operator of a successful catering business.

Mr. Vargas is married and the father of five sons. He and his wife are active community members, working with Annunciation Parish of Arcadia, Latino Parents Association at the University of Southern California, the Parent Teachers Association at Arroyo High School, and as community members of the El Monte National Little League Association. Mr. Vargas is the Board Vice President and member of the Foundation for the Compton Community College District.
