Cindy Williams Returns to LACC

On Saturday, September 12, LACC alumna Cindy Williams returned to the El Camino Theater stage as she discussed her new book, “Shirley, I Jest: A Storied Life.” Fellow alumnus and friend, Bruce Kimmel ’68, introduced the event, while Herbie J Pilato served as moderator. Cindy spoke to Herbie on the Camino stage about her life, her time spent at LACC, her notable acting career, and her quirky friendship with Andy Kaufmann. As she spoke, she brought stories to life such as arriving late to receive her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and shooting the impromptu final scene from “American Graffiti” with Ron Howard.

The interview was followed by a Q & A session with the audience and a book signing. Cindy graciously spoke with fans and posed for photos. The event was organized by the Los Angeles City College Foundation with proceeds going towards the LACC Theater Academy.
