Mark Hamill Brings the Force to LACC

On Sunday, December 6, Los Angeles City College alumnus Mark Hamill returned to his alma mater to meet with current Theatre Academy Students, followed by a Q&A session with fans, moderated by emeritus Al Rossi in the Camino Theatre.  Hamill attended LACC for four semesters plus a summer session in the early 1970s.  During the Q&A, Hamill discussed his time at LACC and told stories from his acting and voice over career.  He described his audition for Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy, during which he struggled to read the part with limited direction from the casting director.  He went on to say how he became involved as a “legacy” character along with Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher in Star Wars:The Force Awakens and how the latest experience compared to the first time around.  Following the talk, Hamill graciously met with fans and posed for pictures in a VIP reception in the Caminito.  All proceeds from the event went to support the Theatre Academy.  Thank you Mark for supporting your alma mater!
