Five new scholarships have been announced for 2008 which include the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation Book Grant, the Johnny Grant Scholarship, named to honor the late Johnny’s commitment to Hollywood and his hope for the future; the Douglas Blasdell Scholarship for LGBTQ & Straight Allies; Health Sciences Scholarship for Dental Tech, Radiology Tech and Nursing; and the Jerry and Carol Goldsmith Music Scholarship.. An additional eight funds and LACCF’s general scholarship fund are also available.

Scholarships for 2008 have increased, and this year will be an even more successful year for the Foundation thanks in part to the highly successful Fall 2007 Gala which honored Los Angeles City Council President, Eric Garcetti, Kaiser Permanente and Outstanding Alumnus Jerry Goldsmith. The Gala’s success was due in no small part to co-chairs Laurie Goldman and Jerry Neuman as well as sponsors Kaiser Permanente, Allen Matkins, Apollo Molasky, GO! Goldman Organization, Marni & Marv Hoffman, Washington Mutual, Wells Fargo, The LACC Swap Meet, Argent Ventures/Millennium Partners, AT&T, Automobile Club, Casey Family Programs, Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council, The Los Angeles CRA, Edward Dilkes, First Class Vending, Gatehouse Capital, Hennigan, Bennett & Dorman, Hollywood United Neighborhood Council, Hollywood WorkSource, The Related Companies.
