Ways to Give

Giving to Los Angeles City College

Los Angeles City College (LACC) has been serving the Los Angeles community and beyond since 1929 providing quality academic and vocational education at an affordable price to all those who seek to establish and/or advance their careers and improve their lives. Access to a higher education is the central focus of our mission.

Generous donations to Los Angeles City College Foundation ensure that opportunities exist for students who otherwise might not be able to attend an institute of higher learning. A solid education leads to quality jobs and careers, which, in turn, build strong families and communities.

Annual Fund – Unrestricted and Restricted Funds
The LACC Annual Fund provides direct and immediate support to the College’s most pressing operational needs including student programs, teaching equipment and technology, library materials, special campus & community events, and faculty/staff professional development.

This fund houses unrestricted funds and can be used at the discretion of the Executive Director of the LACC Foundation in conjunction with the LACC President, with the approval of the Chancellor of the LACCD. Gifts can be restricted to any academic or vocational area to be used for programmatic and curriculum needs. No minimum gift amount.

Endowed Student Scholarships
These gifts of $10,000 or more are invested in the LACC Foundation’s endowed fund. Annually or biannually, interest is allocated to students, thus protecting in perpetuity the corpus. These endowments can be named and specifically designated.

Endowment Gifts
Endowment gifts to the LACC Foundation provide long-term support to the College in the form of student scholarships in perpetuity, faculty positions (such as chairs) and other significant and strategic priorities.

Capital Gifts
Even with state support the College must raise matching funds to ensure the development and renovation of campus facilities. These are specific gifts toward capital improvements on our campus including construction, renovation, or equipment purchases.

Stocks
These are securities that are signed over to LACC Foundation that can be sold or retained by the Foundation for the benefit of LACC’s students and the College.

Corporate/Foundation/Government grants
These gifts are secured as a result of a selection process based on submitted grant proposals.

In-Kind
These gifts are approved assets that are transferred through the Foundation to the ownership of the College or a specific campus department or program.
