Food for Thought Program

The Los Angeles City College Foundation Food For Thought program began in Fall 2018 and has grown to include the following food support services for LACC students:

  • Midterm and Final Meals Support
  • Weekly LACC Cub Store credit for food and snack purchases
  • Annual LACC Day of Gratitude meals
  • Pop-Up Food Pantry
  • Food support for LACC campus and community events
  • Emergency Food Aid (grocery gift cards)

Food insecurity threatens a student’s ability to succeed and stay in school. Food insecurity is characterized by the limited or uncertain availability of nutritionally adequate and safe food, or the inability to acquire such food in a socially acceptable manner. The LACC Foundation provides food support services for student in need, and attempts minimize or eliminate stigma by seamlessly integrating those services into typical campus operations.

Donations and grants to the LACC Foundation Food for Thought program allows us to support LACC students, reduce their barriers to academic success and completion and enable our students to focus on their futures, not their hunger.

Your contributions are vital to continue and expand Food for Though program operations.

Los Angeles City College (LACC) and the Los Angeles Community College District (LACCD) have identified food insecurity as a persistent problem affecting student access and success.

Make a contribution to the Food for Thought Program and support LACC students in their journey to success.
