“Young Guns” Entertainment Industry Panel
On May 8, 2014, students and alumni gathered at El Camino Theatre to hear from young professionals with recent experience breaking into, and successfully navigating, the entertainment industry. Attendees received valuable information from the following entertainment industry insiders:
Jesse Daniels – Manager of Development, Maverick Productions (reality programming), former development assistant at Mark Burnett Productions.
Natalie Hayden – Manager, Paramount Music, former assistant to Adam Goodman, president of production for Paramount
Alex Reid – screenwriter (Kickball: The Movie for Nickelodeon, Rapscallions for Disney TV Animation), former writers assistant to James Cameron
Carey Schwartz – agent, Creative Artists Agency, former assistant to Richard Lovett (head of CAA)
Jessica Shulman – President of Development for Baer Bones, Inc. (executive producer of Under the Dome for CBS and Law and Order: SVU for NBC); former member of production and acquisitions group at Overture Films, former assistant at Paradigm Talent Agency
Jennifer Tolman – Talent Agent at Paradigm Talent Agency. She specializes in music/talent crossover clients within the worlds of Television and Film. As the industry landscape evolves, artists often seek alternative channels for cultivating their brand. Jennifer identifies and navigates opportunities for her clients, helping them achieve their dreams and build their careers. As more artists are defining themselves as multi-hyphenate talent, Jennifer has become a crucial part of the new generation of talent representatives. Jennifer’s clients include Mel B., Austin Mahone, T-Pain, Sara Bareilles, Mike Posner, Ingrid Michaelson, Arielle Kebbel, and Toby Keith
This great panel, was organized and moderated by Robert Schwartz, Executive Director, LACC Foundation. Mr. Schwartz has had a versatile career as an executive in business affairs and production supervision, an owner of a prestigious talent agency, a film distributor, and a television producer.
