Martin & Music – Event Photos

On Saturday, April 4th, the LACC and Los Angeles community gathered to see Alumnus Gerald Rivers and Broadway vocalist Charles Holt perform Martin & Music, a groundbreaking theatrical production about the life of the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., the civil rights movement, and the musical ties that served as the binding power that propelled the movement forward. All the proceeds from the event were donated to LACC’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Library.

The show was put on by the LACC Foundation and Common Peace in honor of the 18th Annual Season for Non-Violence. Following the performance, The Honorable Mark and Avis Ridley-Thomas were presented with the Local Hero Award. The evening ended with a VIP reception on the El Camino Theater stage, featuring performances by singer/actress Paula Newsome and saxophonist Cal Bennett.
